Blackie proposed!

One of my favourite singers Fan Fan, is finally hitched! Here's the news:

Taiwanese host-actor Chen Chien-chou (better known as Blackie 黑人) 陈建州, went down on one knee and successfully proposed to his girlfriend of ten years, Taiwanese singer-songwriter, Christine Fan (better known as Fanfan 范范) 范玮琪 last Thursday at a basketball game in New Jersey, America.

As avid basketball fans, Blackie orchestrated this entire proposal and specially set it at the NBA basketball court in New Jersey. The ex-national Taiwanese basketball player shared that he felt "nervous and scared" as there were "too many unfamiliar foreigners" around them.

The 32-year-old revealed, "To buy this ring, I had to lie to her and tell her I was going to shop at Nike. I had to enlist the help of others to send her away."

When the basketball match was nearing the half-time break, in front of the camera, Blackie asked Fanfan, "How long have we been dating?" His girlfriend gave it some thought and replied, "Almost 10 years!" On that note, Blackie whipped out a one-carat Tiffany diamond ring from his pocket, went on his knee and proposed to a bewildered Fanfan.

Shocked and surprised at the turn of events, the statuesque singer covered her face and gave a tearful nod. Bystanders around them clapped and cheered in jubilation as the pair embraced each other with a hug.

"I felt that this would be a good opportunity [to propose] as basketball is also an important part of my life. From today onwards, my first and only would be my fiancée, Fanfan," Blackie quipped.

Both Blackie and Fanfan have been dating each other for the past ten years and have earned themselves the 'model couple' label in the Taiwanese showbiz industry. Known to be a loving pair, 33-year-old Fanfan once penned her feelings for Blackie in a hit-song titled 'Black to White'.
